Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Syntrologie Inc. ("Syntrologie," "we," "us") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information in connection with: (i) our websites and other online properties that link to this Privacy Policy (the "Site"), and (ii) our software platform, telemetry scripts/SDKs, generative AI engines, and automated deployment tools offered to business customers (collectively, the "Services").

This Privacy Policy does not replace any agreement between Syntrologie and a customer for the Services (an "Customer Agreement"). If there is a conflict between this Privacy Policy and a Customer Agreement (including a Data Processing Addendum, if any), the Customer Agreement controls with respect to the Services.

1. Key Definitions and Roles

"Customer" means an entity that enters into a Customer Agreement with Syntrologie to use the Services.

"Customer Properties" means websites, applications, and other digital properties operated by a Customer on which the Customer deploys Syntrologie's telemetry scripts/SDKs and uses the Services.

"End Users" means individuals who visit or use Customer Properties.

Controller / Processor. With respect to information processed via Customer Properties, Customer is the controller/business and Syntrologie is the processor/service provider, processing information on Customer's behalf and under Customer's instructions. End Users should review the Customer's privacy policy for the applicable disclosures and choices on that Customer Property.

With respect to the Site and our direct business relationship (e.g., accounts for Customer representatives, billing, support), Syntrologie acts as a controller for that information.

2. Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with us.

2.1 Information you provide to us (Site + business relationship)

  • Contact and business information. Name, work email, company name, role/title, and information you choose to provide in communications with us (e.g., when requesting a demo or contacting support).
  • Account administration data. Workspace/organization identifiers, user identifiers, role/permission assignments, and configuration choices made within the Services.
  • Billing information. Billing contact details and payment/transaction records. Payment card information is typically collected and processed by our payment processor, not stored by us (subject to your implementation).

2.2 Information collected automatically (Site)

  • Device and usage data. IP address, browser type, operating system, pages viewed, referring URLs, and interactions with the Site.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies/local storage and similar technologies to operate the Site and for analytics and security purposes. See Section 6.

2.3 Information processed via Customer Properties (End Users)

When a Customer deploys our telemetry scripts/SDKs on Customer Properties, the Services may process information about End Users on the Customer's behalf, which may include:

  • Interaction telemetry. Page views, clicks/taps, scrolling, navigation events, time-on-page, UI interactions, and other behavioral signals.
  • Device/session data. IP address, device/browser attributes, approximate location derived from IP, session identifiers (e.g., cookies/local storage), and event timestamps.
  • Performance and diagnostic data. Errors, crash logs, performance measurements, and related diagnostic telemetry.
  • Experimentation and personalization metadata. Feature flags, variant assignments, exposure events, and outcomes (e.g., conversions) as configured by the Customer.

Sensitive information. The Services are not intended for collection of Sensitive Personal Information (e.g., Social Security numbers, government IDs, health data, precise financial account numbers). Customers are responsible for configuring their implementation to avoid transmitting sensitive information to Syntrologie and for obtaining any required consents.

3. Authentication

We may use third-party identity providers to authenticate users of the Services. In that case, we receive and store only the identifiers and metadata necessary to administer accounts, organizations, and access control (e.g., member IDs, organization IDs, role/permission mappings). We do not store passwords when authentication is handled by an identity provider.

4. How We Use Information

We use information for the following purposes:

4.1 Operating the Site and providing the Services

  • Provide access to the Services; administer accounts, organizations, and permissions; and deliver requested functionality.
  • Provide customer support, respond to inquiries, and send service-related communications (e.g., security notices, transactional messages).

4.2 Telemetry, experimentation, and automated changes (Customer Properties)

The Services are designed to enable Customers to:

  • collect interaction telemetry on Customer Properties;
  • analyze telemetry using ML/AI;
  • generate UI/UX variations and other outputs; and
  • deploy automated changes for experimentation and optimization,

all as configured by the Customer and subject to the Customer's guardrails and settings.

4.3 Security, integrity, and prevention of abuse

Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, security incidents, and misuse of the Site or Services; enforce our terms and policies; and protect the rights and safety of Syntrologie, Customers, and others.

4.4 Improvement and development

Maintain, improve, and develop the Site and Services, including debugging, analytics, and internal research.

4.5 De-identified and aggregated data

To the extent permitted by law and contractual obligations, we may create and use aggregated and/or de-identified data derived from use of the Services to improve our products and models and for analytics and benchmarking. We do not attempt to re-identify de-identified data except as permitted by law (e.g., to validate de-identification) and do not use such data to disclose a Customer's confidential information.

5. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose information as follows:

5.1 Service providers and subprocessors

We use vendors to host, secure, operate, and support the Site and Services (e.g., cloud hosting, monitoring, identity/authentication, customer support tooling, and payment processing). These vendors process information only for our business purposes and under contractual obligations consistent with this Privacy Policy.

If you are a Customer, additional details (including a subprocessor list, where applicable) are available on request.

5.2 At a Customer's direction

Customers control their configurations and integrations. We may disclose information as instructed by a Customer (e.g., to enable an integration or export).

5.3 Legal, safety, and compliance

We may disclose information to comply with applicable law, lawful requests, court orders, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of Syntrologie, our Customers, End Users, or others.

5.4 Corporate transactions

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be disclosed as part of that transaction, subject to customary confidentiality protections.

No sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information in exchange for money. If we engage in activities that constitute "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under certain laws, we will provide appropriate disclosures and opt-out mechanisms.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to:

  • operate the Site and Services;
  • remember preferences and maintain sessions;
  • perform analytics and measure performance; and
  • enhance security and prevent abuse.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. If we provide a cookie banner or preference center, you can use it to manage optional cookies where required by law.

7. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide the Site and Services;
  • comply with legal obligations;
  • resolve disputes; and
  • enforce agreements.

For Customer Property data processed on behalf of Customers, retention is governed by the applicable Customer Agreement and the Customer's configuration of the Services.

8. Security

We maintain administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No security measures can guarantee absolute security, and we cannot ensure or warrant the security of information transmitted to us.

9. International Data Transfers

If we transfer information across borders, we take measures intended to ensure appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable law (for example, contractual protections for international transfers where required).

10. Privacy Rights and Choices

10.1 End Users on Customer Properties

If you are an End User interacting with a Customer Property, the Customer controls the collection and use of your information on that property. To exercise applicable rights (e.g., access, deletion, correction, opt-out), please contact the Customer directly.

10.2 Site visitors and Customer representatives

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or portability of your information, or to object/restrict certain processing. You may also opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in those messages.

To submit a request, contact us at [email protected].

Authorized agent requests (where applicable). If you use an authorized agent to submit a request, we may require proof of authorization and verification of identity.

11. Children

The Site and Services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective Date" above indicates when this Privacy Policy was last revised. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice as required by law.
